First Entertainment Member Story: Former Director, Copyright Admin. for Warner Bros., Craig Hamilton

What is the key to finding success in the entertainment industry?

The key to success in the entertainment business is appreciating that you’re a part of something larger. I look back on working in the business, and what I did was not necessarily a very big part of it, but to be a part of that legacy and know that [a project] will exist a long time afterward, it’s very fulfilling. And to belong to that and to feel a part, it’s an indescribable feeling.

What inspired you to pursue a career in Copyright Administration for Warner Bros. Studios?

Well, show business runs in my blood. I grew up in Los Angeles and am a third-generation Hollywood kid. It was a great way to grow up, hearing these wonderful stories from my grandparents and dad. We lived in houses that were built from cast-off lumber from movie sets.

How does First Entertainment benefit you as a creator of entertainment?

When it comes to financial institutions, it’s important to work with someone who understands that it’s not just about money, it’s about your legacy. I love working with First Entertainment Credit Union because they have an investment in my future, and they treat me so well.

How would you compare your experiences with First Entertainment with other financial institutions you have banked with?

I’ve been with First Entertainment for almost 30 years. It doesn’t feel like you’re going to a bank. It feels like you’re visiting family. They take the time to care, and it’s not just about money or saving money, it’s about working with you to help you and to help you make money.
