Multi-talented Djakarta Jacobs–better known as simply Djakarta–shines as a producer and actress with credits on acclaimed shows like NCIS: Los Angeles, Loiter Squad, and RuPaul’s Drag U.
Raised in the Washington, D.C., area, Djakarta’s upbringing around her parents’ Galerie Triangle art gallery ignited her passion for the arts. Relocating to L.A. in 2008, she delved into acting, founding the production company New American Divas a year later to showcase the talents of multicultural women. Djakarta continues to showcase her many talents on stage and in front of the camera, including starring in performances with the esteemed Company of Angels theater group and producing I’m an Actor, They Don’t Get It at the Stella Adler Theater.

What is the key to finding success in the entertainment industry?
“I have found that the key to finding success in entertainment is to have resilience and tenacity.”
What inspired you to become an actress and producer?
“I enjoyed the arts so much as a child, growing up around my parents’ art gallery inspired me to dream beyond the norm, which led to my participation in plays and choir in elementary school, and the rest is history.”
How does First Entertainment benefit you as a creator of entertainment?
“When my car broke down during COVID, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to replace it given the shut down and being out of work. However, to my surprise, First Entertainment not only approved me as a member in good standing but also gave me a very competitive low interest rate. I was surprised and elated.”
