First Entertainment Credit Union Brings Superhero Finance to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Literacy Program
First Entertainment donates educational comics for National Financial Literacy Month
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 22, 2024) – In the spirit of National Financial Literacy Month, First Entertainment Credit Union, the premier financial partner to creators in entertainment, donated a collection of finance themed superhero comic books in April to the Literally Healing program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, emphasizing the importance of learning financial literacy in a way that is both accessible and engaging.
“At First Entertainment, we recognize the power that literacy and education can have on young people,” said Stephen Owen, President and CEO of First Entertainment Credit Union. “By integrating the excitement of superhero stories with lessons on financial literacy, we hope these comics entertain while also educate young minds. The aim is for these comics to bring joy to the families of Children’s Hospital while underscoring the importance of learning financial skills.”
The brand-new comic books will be available to both inpatient and outpatient families. Literally Healing offers all patients and their families access to over 65,000 books annually, regardless of their treatment status. First Entertainment’s donation to the Literally Healing is part of the credit union’s dedication to supporting financial literacy among all members of its community.
“This donation from First Entertainment is a testament to the credit union’s commitment of supporting our members as well as our neighbors in unique ways that resonate with them,” said Owen. “Through our ongoing collaboration with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, First Entertainment aims to foster financial literacy and the opportunities it can bring to every young person.”
