HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (September 08, 2026) – First Entertainment Credit Union, the premier financial partner to creators in the entertainment community, is proud to support PBS SoCal’s 2026 FINE CUT Festival of Films, one of California’s leading showcases for student filmmaking talent.
First Entertainment will provide a $2,500 grant to each of the festival’s four winners, helping student filmmakers continue developing their craft and pursue opportunities within the entertainment industry.
“At First Entertainment, supporting creators is part of who we are,” said Heather Lewis, Senior Vice President and Chief Growth and Experience Officer. “For nearly six decades, we’ve served professionals throughout the entertainment industry, and we’re honored to help emerging filmmakers gain visibility, access valuable resources and continue pursuing their creative ambitions.”
The PBS SoCal FINE CUT Festival of Films provides student storytellers an opportunity to showcase their work to television audiences, industry professionals and fellow creators. The 2026 season premieres September 24 on PBS SoCal and highlights films spanning documentary, animation and narrative storytelling. Winners will be honored during a public awards ceremony in Los Angeles on September 22.
In addition to screenings and awards, FINE CUT provides educational and professional development opportunities through its annual mentoring workshop, which connects students with accomplished directors, producers, writers, cinematographers and animation professionals.
“Creative industries depend on new voices and fresh perspectives,” added Lewis. “We’re proud to support a program that helps emerging filmmakers gain recognition for their work and connect with the people and opportunities that can shape their future.”
