First Entertainment Credit Union Supports Latino Storytelling at the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival
First Entertainment Credit Union proudly participated in the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival, joining filmmakers, creators, and entertainment professionals from across Southern California to celebrate Latino storytelling and strengthen connections within the entertainment industry.
As a credit union founded by and for entertainment professionals, First Entertainment is committed to supporting the diverse communities that help shape the industry. The Chicano Hollywood Film Festival provided an opportunity to engage with creators across film, television, and digital media while celebrating the cultural impact of Latino voices both in front of and behind the camera. Festival highlights included appearances from notable entertainment figures such as Emilio Rivera, Yadi Valerio Rivera, and Danny De La Paz.
Among the featured projects was Madwoman’s Game, a documentary executive produced by Keanu Reeves that follows filmmaker Bianca Mitchell-Avila’s journey through the competitive chess world. The festival also highlighted Grit, executive produced by Emilio Rivera and Yadi Valerio Rivera through their production company, Outside the Box Films, with Yadi making her directorial debut.
“At First Entertainment, we believe storytelling has the power to inspire new perspectives and bring people closer to the world around them,” said Heather Lewis, Senior Vice President and Chief Growth and Experience Officer for First Entertainment. “We’re proud to support events like the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival that showcase Latino creators and provide filmmakers with valuable resources and opportunities to build meaningful connections.”
The festival’s expanded program highlighted both emerging talent and established voices within the Latino entertainment community, reinforcing its mission to create greater visibility and opportunity for Latino creators. Featured programming included independent film screenings, educational workshops, and special events that celebrated the rich history and future of Chicano and Latino storytelling.
First Entertainment is proud to support organizations and events that champion diversity and creativity across the entertainment industry. Through participation in programs like the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival, the credit union continues its commitment to empowering entertainment professionals at every stage of their careers.
